BLAKELY + MATT | Chicago City Hall Elopement

This is one of the most special weddings I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing. From the very beginning, Blakely and Matt made it very clear that they wanted their wedding to be non-traditional & simply something that they could enjoy. They decided to do a small city hall ceremony, an intimate dinner with family, and a cocktail reception the next day to celebrate with everyone. With the ceremony taking place at 8 a.m., I threw out the idea that we could have them do a first look at sunrise. They responded with a resounding “Yes.”

We headed back to their place for a few more portraits before we headed over to City Hall for the ceremony. It didn’t disappoint.

Such a simple, beautiful celebration of love and commitment. We took a 6 hour break and treated ourselves to a nap. Then, we reconvened at Girl & The Goat, one of Chicago’s best. It also didn’t disappoint.

The following evening took place at Bad Hunter at The Herbarium (which sadly doesn’t exist anymore). Pretty epic that this place had the pleasure of hosting these two before its doors were closed.

Blakely pulled off the most spectacular Marilyn Monroe look & Matt just showed off with that jawline of his. I mean, look at these two.

I’ll never forget having the pleasure of capturing these two epic days for Blakely and Matt. It’s always my hope for my couples that they plan and execute a wedding that THEY want to do. These two followed their desires for their wedding, and it was worth it in every way.
